My First Hackathon: Data Visualizations with Amazon Q Developer

Learn how Metal Toad's Hackathon team leveraged Amazon Q Developer to create interactive data visualizations from GenAI models, modernizing data workflows.

I recently had the chance to participate in Metal Toads Hackathon, my first one ever, and such a cool experience! The challenge was to use GenAI to modernize legacy infrastructure, and my team, the Refactornauts, chose to explore how GenAI could help create and enhance data visualizations.

We worked with Metal Toad’s public GenAI Model List spreadsheet, using Amazon Q Developer to transform the data into interactive graphs. Even coming from HR, I found ways to contribute, and it was rewarding to see how my skills could add value in a technical setting, and how teamwork and creativity can drive innovation just as much as coding does.
