Which GenAI model is the best?

When it comes to GenAI models "the best" is dependent on the workload you want to launch. Think about it from the following dimensions:

  • Accuracy. How important is accuracy to what you are trying to accomplish. Are some hallucinations ok or do you need to get as close to 0% as possible? Anthropic models tend to perform very well.
  • Scope. Is your workload limited in scope (example: answering specific product questions, etc.). Smaller models cost less. Meta's Llama model can be figured for smaller scopes.
  • Cost. A number of dimensions impact cost include model type, size, and input token limit. Do you need to save money or is performance more important. AWS' Nova model is very cost efficient.
