Amazon Quick Suite: AWS's New AI-Powered Data and Automation Suite

Explore Amazon Quick Suite, AWS's expansion of QuickSight that brings AI chat agents, research, flows, and automations.

Fall 2025 AWS released their new service Amazon Quick Suite. This service is an expansion to Amazon Quicksight. That makes your data usable to advanced AI. The new features fall into a few sub services.

  • Spaces - A way to group data, services, and integrations to provide to people and agents.
  • Chat Agents - An agent with a system prompt describing what it does, for who, style, and any other details you want to provide. Then give it access to a Space
  • Flows - A natural language automation workflow. Prompt for what you want to happen then AWS builds the work flow.
  • Research - Does deep research on your data or topic. Provide a question or topic. Give it access to a space and let it run.
  • Automations - A way to automate complex tasks with natural language and drag and drop tiles.

In addition to these services Quick Suite added Integrations and Extensions. These expand the functionality to use your tools and not just your data.

  • Integrations give you access to third party knowledge bases like Atlassian Confluence to Microsoft SharePoint or provide actions to third part services like github, or Monday.
  • Extensions allows you to use browser extensions to help when browsing the internet by summarizing pages or asking questions.

Lets start where you will and go review some of these services. Metal Toad already had our AWS CUDOS dashboards in Quick Suite. From there I added a few folders from Google Drive with a few clicks. Slack Integration took me a little longer but thats because theres a few different ways to connect and I wasn’t sure exactly which one to use.

Once connected I was able to create a Quick Suite Space with the Google Drive and AWS Cost data. Then I created A Quick Suite Chat agent to act as a financial advisor and connected it to the Space. The setup of these two steps took less than 15 minutes. My prompt for the agent was pretty simple and I can see carefully crafting a robust prompt taking some time. As soon as it was created I was able to ask it “Analyze current month's billing anomalies in CUDOS dashboard” It was able to identify anomalies, prioritize them based on difference and spend, then recommend actions. It was even able to create a graph of it when asked.

Research was a little different. I was able to connect it to Space quickly. I asked it to do the same as the agent but I asked it to do it for 12 months, Do it by client, account, and customer. It took 20-30 minutes to run. When it was done it provided a well documented and a well written report. Unfortunately it looked for anomalies between clients not from month to month. I think this could have been because of my shorter prompt than the system. On the plus side once it was done it provided a Research comment section. You could comment in the report directly for specific sections or provide general feedback. Once that's done you can run a new draft.

Through all this it was simple to use but I noticed it was lacking integrations especially when compared to competitors like N8N for flows. I could connect to Outlook to send email, but I couldn’t connect to GMail. The saving grace to this is that it provides a generic MCP, REST, and OpenAPI integration. I didn’t have a chance to try these yet but if they work as promised then the limited number of integrations would be mitigated somewhat.

Amazon Quick Suite is a very well rounded tool. It has some shortcomings but it’s relatively new so hopefully the Integration library will consider to grow. The individual tools are only as good as the prompts you write. Which is true with all agentic tools. Where it really shines is that since it started as a BI tool it already has access to your data making setup already mostly done.
