Metal Toad Media is looking for a junior web developer to join our team. You will work on exciting new web-based LAMP application ranging from internal projects, to small e-commerce clients to custom applications for Verizon and other publicly traded companies.

In this role your responsibilities will include:

• learning to write excellent code
• writing excellent code

IMPORTANT: This is an in office position, so you must be local to Portland, Oregon. No outsourced firms or remote workers need apply.

Required skills:

• BS in computer science or related field
• Solid understanding of object oriented programming
• 1 yr(+) XHTML, CSS, JavaScript experience
• 1 yr(+) PHP experience
• Interest/experience in other languages (Ruby, JSP, Perl, etc.)
• Good communication skills
• A great attitude & willingness to learn

Pluses:

• Familiarity with version control (SVN, CVS, etc.)
• Drupal development experience
• Unix/Linux command line experience
• MySQL database experience
• Apache (or other web server)
• Familiarity with agile software development methodologies (XP, etc)
• Basic Photoshop skills
• Read the book the Mythical Man-Month
