Emmys: Website Development

Objective:

Recognizing that the landscape of content delivery is changing, the ATAS had decided to revamp their online strategy and needed a strong content management system to create a new, dynamic way of interacting with their audience and peers.

Industry: Entertainment

Services: Custom Drupal Development, PHP Programming, Javascript, Hand-coded standards-compliant CSS

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences launched their new emmys.com site in preparation of announcing the nominees for the 2009 Primetime Emmy® Awards. The goal was a site that incorporated a stylish layout, professional video, high quality photo galleries and allowed for flexible content management, managed by their internal staff--all while keeping up with high performance traffic demands. Based on these requirements, Metal Toad Media built emmys.com using Drupal and Brightcove. Drupal is a best-in-class open-source content management system, with a huge developer community. Brightcove offers exceptional online video taking the experience a cut above YouTube and other video providers.

For the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards, a new look was implemented on the site showcasing the branding and marketing goals of the Academy.
